All of last week I was on holiday from work, I take the same week off every year purely to be guaranteed that I won’t be working on the day of my birthday, I do the same with Sophia’s birthday too!  I’ve pretty much done this since my first job because they are so fun for me and now I always get to celebrate the whole week!

My actual birthday wasn’t until the Saturday and the only real solid plans were, a night out with all of my friends on the Wednesday, a carvery meal with my family on Thursday and then dinner with my amazing Ruairi on Saturday, but he also surprised me with another meal out on Friday cos he a cutie.
Obviously, the whole week wasn’t all about me, I promise I’m not that self-centred. With working 5 days a week I don't get a lot of time with Sophia in terms of full days and getting to do bedtime with her, so it was nice to have that time with her to do the whole bath/bed routine.

The Night Out.
I am the biggest lightweight in the planet and I really wanted to have a good time and still be able to have a decent amount of drinks too! So, the plan was to eat as much food as physically possible during the day before having any alcohol at night. The original plan for the night was that I wanted everyone to come to my house for pre-drinks but as I had just got Maui 4 days before I decided it wouldn’t be the best idea having lots of people in the house all at the same time, so it literally just ended up being me and my friend Mairi having a few wines until my other 2 friends decided last minute to come out too! After that we just kinda met everyone else in town and had the best wee time ever, had a lot of drinks and good time until 3am, went for some food then straight to bed! (get you a man who will peel off those false lashes).

The day itself was pretty chill compared to the rest of the week. Sophia had begged to stay at her Nana’s the night before so I got ready and Ruairi took me to the shops to meet them where my Nana was getting in all her shopping, we headed back to hers for some lunch and to spend some time with Sophia before going off to Ruairi’s mums house for a little chat and a drink. We went to the cinema to see Girls Trip which was honestly so funny and then had a little table booked in Chiquito for after.

I just want to say a quick thank you to everyone who made this past week the most amazing week ever! I have some of the best friends in the world and I appreciate them all so much! I have had some negative feelings towards this birthday, purely because I’m not where I thought I would be, but I think I need to cut myself some slack and also work harder towards those goals so that hopefully I won’t feel the same next year!

Thanks again for reading!

Going Dairy Free.

Quick disclaimer for this post, all information has come from my own research and advice from my doctor. There are photos on this post that show my skin when my acne was pretty bad so if that's something that could be uncomfortable then maybe this post isn't for you.

In around May 2017 I had decided that enough was enough when it came to my skin, I was sick of not being able to wear t-shirts or anything that showed off my shoulders/back, covering myself up all the time especially on warmer days wasn't ideal and my confidence was at a low. I had done some of my own research and found a lot of videos and articles that linked acne to dairy products, there was so many youtube videos which showed how much people's skin cleared up after they cut dairy out of their diet. I sat on it for a few days and continued to do research until I decided to just go for it, I ordered a big food shop to the house with nothing that contained dairy, I've found new butters and milks that I…

The Week off

Last week while I was working I was thinking that I definitely had a holiday coming soon but I had completely forgotten about it, so you can imagine my surprise when I was told that my holiday was actually this week! I wish I could say I've been super productive, I did originally plan to decorate my bedroom but with the time off being quite last minute I didn't want to hurry around and get everything I needed for decorating when I could actually just relax for once.

Monday to Friday were pretty standard, Sophia still had nursery so it was quite odd having time to just chill out and not be getting ready to leave for work, I also tried to make time for friends that I don't get to see that often which was quite lovely. After nursery on Friday my mum came through to pick Sophia up and take her away for the weekend, so it was even more weird not having to wake up super early on Saturday for either work or Soph.

Last night Ruairi and I had a wedding reception to go to with some f…

A look back on October

Sophia has been put to bed, the housework has been partially done and I've had a long day so it's finally time for me to sit down and talk to myself on here!

Another month crossed off of 2017, October was a good one! A wee holiday from work, lots of time with Sophia and HALLOWEEN! I wish I had lots of stories for each week of the month but life hasn't been that exciting really, I think the main reason I've enjoyed it so much is probably just because it has been nice and quiet and it is nice sometimes to just not have anything big going on. I'm loving the darker nights, warmer clothes and all the hot drinks I can have whenever I like.

Last Saturday after working a 9 hour shift at work I had to quickly get home and ready for a Halloween party with Ruairi and some of his friends and family, sadly with having limited time to get ready, the 10 minute make up was scary enough so I didn't take any photos that night, I went there with the mindset that I'd be leaving…
