Back to Business

Having last week off work was amazing and very much needed for many reasons, I got to sleep more, spend time with Sophia, friends and family and just not having to go to work was maybe the biggest plus.

Since my birthday I've been thinking a lot about my life and some things that I would like to see change over this year. So far 2017 has all been about trying to be my most positive self and while I'm still working on that I do think that 8 months into the year it would be a decent time to start working on some of the other goals that I set for myself back in January. Starting with my health! Getting into a new relationship at the start of the year has been an amazing thing for the happiness side of life (thanks Ru) but all the meals out and eating rubbish together hasn't been great on the figure (thanks again Ru). I've never been completely unhealthy so making little changes throughout the last month like cutting out full fat drinks and only really having snacks and 'unhealthy' meals a couple times a week wasn't too difficult.

A few weeks ago I joined the gym again! After not being near one since December last year I think it was defo time to get back into it, last week was my first proper week of going for my goal of 3 days in the week, before that I was only going once or twice and not really going in there with any sort of plan or idea of what I wanted to do. Last week though I went along for a few sessions with Mairi and honestly I can't thank her enough for getting me out of my comfort zone and just all in being the most encouraging person ever! It made 2 hours in the gym at 6am feel like a walk in the park, so thanks hun 😉.

So really my goal for the next year is to get my health back on track, continue with the good eating and exercise and try my best to document my journey! I've already had some before and after pictures taken a couple of months ago and looking at them alone makes me want to work even harder. I also understand that I'm in no way an 'overweight' person but that also doesn't mean that I have to be happy with what I have, being my happiest and most confident self is gonna take some hard work but I am very much excited to see what kind of things I can have achieved in the next 12 months.

The Week off

Last week while I was working I was thinking that I definitely had a holiday coming soon but I had completely forgotten about it, so you can imagine my surprise when I was told that my holiday was actually this week! I wish I could say I've been super productive, I did originally plan to decorate my bedroom but with the time off being quite last minute I didn't want to hurry around and get everything I needed for decorating when I could actually just relax for once.

Monday to Friday were pretty standard, Sophia still had nursery so it was quite odd having time to just chill out and not be getting ready to leave for work, I also tried to make time for friends that I don't get to see that often which was quite lovely. After nursery on Friday my mum came through to pick Sophia up and take her away for the weekend, so it was even more weird not having to wake up super early on Saturday for either work or Soph.

A look back on October

Sophia has been put to bed, the housework has been partially done and I've had a long day so it's finally time for me to sit down and talk to myself on here!

Another month crossed off of 2017, October was a good one! A wee holiday from work, lots of time with Sophia and HALLOWEEN! I wish I had lots of stories for each week of the month but life hasn't been that exciting really, I think the main reason I've enjoyed it so much is probably just because it has been nice and quiet and it is nice sometimes to just not have anything big going on. I'm loving the darker nights, warmer clothes and all the hot drinks I can have whenever I like.

Last Saturday after working a 9 hour shift at work I had to quickly get home and ready for a Halloween party with Ruairi and some of his friends and family, sadly with having limited time to get ready, the 10 minute make up was scary enough so I didn't take any photos that night, I went there with the mindset that I'd be leaving…
