Girls weekend in Glasgow

This time last week I was in the middle of a full day of shopping at Braehead shopping center in Glasgow. A couple months ago my nana and sister had asked if Sophia and I would like to go on a little shopping trip somewhere before Christmas, at first I didn't really want to, I couldn't justify the money I would end up spending with going away but ended up thinking fuck it! why not? Glasgow seemed like a nice idea as it wasn't too far away for travelling with a little one who doesn't do a lot of travelling and we knew there was a massive shopping center there that we could easily spend a full day in.

Before going me and my sister had chatted about possibly taking an hour out of our Saturday morning to go to a tattoo shop and have matching tattoos, I had also been looking into a piercing that I've been wanting to get done for a long time so I thought why not just get it all at the same time. We went along to a really friendly tattoo shop in Govan called 'LUV ink' where I had my lip piercing (vertical labret) and we both got our matching 'pinky promise' tattoos.

Braehead is such an amazing place for shopping and I will 100% be going again and maybe even give a little more time as there's only so much we could see in one day and with shopping with a toddler who is easily bored and tired made it a little harder. One of the first shops we went into was 'build a bear' where we spent way too much money on 2 little ponies but seeing how magical it was for Sophia was the best thing ever! She loved being able to stuff her little ponies, pick a smell for them and make a little wish into a heart for them and it was very emotional for me to see how happy she was in there. After around 6 hours out of the hotel it was time for me to head back with Sophia so she could have a little rest and play with her new toys until it was time to head out for some dinner.

Having that little weekend away was so nice, Sophia's first hotel experience as well and I can't wait to do it again hopefully sometime soon. At least that's all the Christmas shopping done for this year, a couple bits and bobs more to pick up and I still have all my wrapping to do also, just can't bloody wait till it's all over! There most likely isn't gonna be another post up until after the Christmas madness is over so I hope everyone has a lovely Christmas!

Going Dairy Free.

Quick disclaimer for this post, all information has come from my own research and advice from my doctor. There are photos on this post that show my skin when my acne was pretty bad so if that's something that could be uncomfortable then maybe this post isn't for you.

In around May 2017 I had decided that enough was enough when it came to my skin, I was sick of not being able to wear t-shirts or anything that showed off my shoulders/back, covering myself up all the time especially on warmer days wasn't ideal and my confidence was at a low. I had done some of my own research and found a lot of videos and articles that linked acne to dairy products, there was so many youtube videos which showed how much people's skin cleared up after they cut dairy out of their diet. I sat on it for a few days and continued to do research until I decided to just go for it, I ordered a big food shop to the house with nothing that contained dairy, I've found new butters and milks that I…

The Week off

Last week while I was working I was thinking that I definitely had a holiday coming soon but I had completely forgotten about it, so you can imagine my surprise when I was told that my holiday was actually this week! I wish I could say I've been super productive, I did originally plan to decorate my bedroom but with the time off being quite last minute I didn't want to hurry around and get everything I needed for decorating when I could actually just relax for once.

Monday to Friday were pretty standard, Sophia still had nursery so it was quite odd having time to just chill out and not be getting ready to leave for work, I also tried to make time for friends that I don't get to see that often which was quite lovely. After nursery on Friday my mum came through to pick Sophia up and take her away for the weekend, so it was even more weird not having to wake up super early on Saturday for either work or Soph.

Last night Ruairi and I had a wedding reception to go to with some f…

A look back on October

Sophia has been put to bed, the housework has been partially done and I've had a long day so it's finally time for me to sit down and talk to myself on here!

Another month crossed off of 2017, October was a good one! A wee holiday from work, lots of time with Sophia and HALLOWEEN! I wish I had lots of stories for each week of the month but life hasn't been that exciting really, I think the main reason I've enjoyed it so much is probably just because it has been nice and quiet and it is nice sometimes to just not have anything big going on. I'm loving the darker nights, warmer clothes and all the hot drinks I can have whenever I like.

Last Saturday after working a 9 hour shift at work I had to quickly get home and ready for a Halloween party with Ruairi and some of his friends and family, sadly with having limited time to get ready, the 10 minute make up was scary enough so I didn't take any photos that night, I went there with the mindset that I'd be leaving…
