We're just not well.

Sophia's in bed, Ruairi is away home and it's a decent time of night for me to dust off the laptop and get on here. Today has been one of those ones that seem to drag along and you always think it should definitely be later than it is. Our trip to the hospital today was the second one for us in the space of 6 weeks, just before Halloween we went because my very helpful princess cut her arm on a smashed glass because she wanted to help with housework, that trip was less worrying as you know they're gonna survive a wee cut to the arm its just more of a panic seeing them in pain, however this weekend Sophia has been really unwell, last night a rash had appeared all over her body and she just didn't seem herself.

This morning when she got home from my mum's house we phoned the nhs and then headed up to the hospital shortly after, with the mood Sophia was in I really didn't think she was gonna be on her best behaviour in there but she was a little star and I'm so proud of how she behaved, even when feeling as rubbish as she did. I better mention that I took her there because it was my fear that she may have measles because she had a lot of the same symptoms (says google), but thankfully it just looks to be an annoying virus. So for the next few days it'll be lots of snuggles with me, movies and doing whatever the hell she wants to because that's how being unwell works!

On a more exciting note, as of 6:30pm yesterday, I'm on holiday for a week from work! It's a little disappointing that Soph and I won't be able to spend the whole week doing things together in terms of going places but at least while she's like this I'm able to give her 100% of my time all week.

I haven't been blogging too much purely because I haven't been in the most positive of places but after speaking to one of my work friends about that he told me that I can't only be writing about times that are happy and full of things going on, and that is true! I've been trying to work on a post about my acne/diet so hopefully that will be up some time soon.

Thank you for reading!

Going Dairy Free.

Quick disclaimer for this post, all information has come from my own research and advice from my doctor. There are photos on this post that show my skin when my acne was pretty bad so if that's something that could be uncomfortable then maybe this post isn't for you.

In around May 2017 I had decided that enough was enough when it came to my skin, I was sick of not being able to wear t-shirts or anything that showed off my shoulders/back, covering myself up all the time especially on warmer days wasn't ideal and my confidence was at a low. I had done some of my own research and found a lot of videos and articles that linked acne to dairy products, there was so many youtube videos which showed how much people's skin cleared up after they cut dairy out of their diet. I sat on it for a few days and continued to do research until I decided to just go for it, I ordered a big food shop to the house with nothing that contained dairy, I've found new butters and milks that I…

The Week off

Last week while I was working I was thinking that I definitely had a holiday coming soon but I had completely forgotten about it, so you can imagine my surprise when I was told that my holiday was actually this week! I wish I could say I've been super productive, I did originally plan to decorate my bedroom but with the time off being quite last minute I didn't want to hurry around and get everything I needed for decorating when I could actually just relax for once.

Monday to Friday were pretty standard, Sophia still had nursery so it was quite odd having time to just chill out and not be getting ready to leave for work, I also tried to make time for friends that I don't get to see that often which was quite lovely. After nursery on Friday my mum came through to pick Sophia up and take her away for the weekend, so it was even more weird not having to wake up super early on Saturday for either work or Soph.

Last night Ruairi and I had a wedding reception to go to with some f…

A look back on October

Sophia has been put to bed, the housework has been partially done and I've had a long day so it's finally time for me to sit down and talk to myself on here!

Another month crossed off of 2017, October was a good one! A wee holiday from work, lots of time with Sophia and HALLOWEEN! I wish I had lots of stories for each week of the month but life hasn't been that exciting really, I think the main reason I've enjoyed it so much is probably just because it has been nice and quiet and it is nice sometimes to just not have anything big going on. I'm loving the darker nights, warmer clothes and all the hot drinks I can have whenever I like.

Last Saturday after working a 9 hour shift at work I had to quickly get home and ready for a Halloween party with Ruairi and some of his friends and family, sadly with having limited time to get ready, the 10 minute make up was scary enough so I didn't take any photos that night, I went there with the mindset that I'd be leaving…
