2 weeks off!

We're already two weeks into March and I feel like so much is happening. First off I finally booked Maui in to be neutered, I put it off for way to long because I hate the idea of her being in any sort of pain but after seeing her going into season as often as she was and the constant peeing on my furniture I think its safe to say I'd had enough and it had to be done! She had the operation on the 8th and has already been in for her first wee checkup and everything seems to be healing perfectly and she has her last check on Sunday so fingers crossed all will still be good.

In 8 days it will be Sophia's birthday! She's going to be 4 years old and I still can't get over it. On my Facebook memories today it came up with some pictures of me 4 years ago, very pregnant posting about still having 7 weeks to go until I got to meet her, but she obviously was not going to be waiting that much longer and I got to meet her early. I am not at all organised for her birthday so I need to pull the finger out this week and get everything sorted for the day! All I know for definite is that we are going out for some dinner on her birthday because she will have nursery through the day and we won't have much time for much else and then on Saturday and Sunday we will have a day out somewhere and do whatever it is that she wants to do for her big day!

On Tuesday I finished work at 10pm and I don't go back until the 27th which feels so long away but I can't wait for all the time I get to have with Sophia and just time for myself too for catching up with my book reading and hopefully working on more things for the blog too as it has been a little abandoned lately. I'm gonna try get another post up in the next few days too!
Have a lovely day!

Going Dairy Free.

Quick disclaimer for this post, all information has come from my own research and advice from my doctor. There are photos on this post that show my skin when my acne was pretty bad so if that's something that could be uncomfortable then maybe this post isn't for you.

In around May 2017 I had decided that enough was enough when it came to my skin, I was sick of not being able to wear t-shirts or anything that showed off my shoulders/back, covering myself up all the time especially on warmer days wasn't ideal and my confidence was at a low. I had done some of my own research and found a lot of videos and articles that linked acne to dairy products, there was so many youtube videos which showed how much people's skin cleared up after they cut dairy out of their diet. I sat on it for a few days and continued to do research until I decided to just go for it, I ordered a big food shop to the house with nothing that contained dairy, I've found new butters and milks that I…

The Week off

Last week while I was working I was thinking that I definitely had a holiday coming soon but I had completely forgotten about it, so you can imagine my surprise when I was told that my holiday was actually this week! I wish I could say I've been super productive, I did originally plan to decorate my bedroom but with the time off being quite last minute I didn't want to hurry around and get everything I needed for decorating when I could actually just relax for once.

Monday to Friday were pretty standard, Sophia still had nursery so it was quite odd having time to just chill out and not be getting ready to leave for work, I also tried to make time for friends that I don't get to see that often which was quite lovely. After nursery on Friday my mum came through to pick Sophia up and take her away for the weekend, so it was even more weird not having to wake up super early on Saturday for either work or Soph.

Last night Ruairi and I had a wedding reception to go to with some f…

A look back on October

Sophia has been put to bed, the housework has been partially done and I've had a long day so it's finally time for me to sit down and talk to myself on here!

Another month crossed off of 2017, October was a good one! A wee holiday from work, lots of time with Sophia and HALLOWEEN! I wish I had lots of stories for each week of the month but life hasn't been that exciting really, I think the main reason I've enjoyed it so much is probably just because it has been nice and quiet and it is nice sometimes to just not have anything big going on. I'm loving the darker nights, warmer clothes and all the hot drinks I can have whenever I like.

Last Saturday after working a 9 hour shift at work I had to quickly get home and ready for a Halloween party with Ruairi and some of his friends and family, sadly with having limited time to get ready, the 10 minute make up was scary enough so I didn't take any photos that night, I went there with the mindset that I'd be leaving…
